Worked in a woolen mill in Lewiston. Lived in apartment over a store near St. Joseph’s church. Kept company there with Nina who brought him meals. Moved in with Dorothy and John Milton Jr. when they bought their first house in Auburn.

From Ginger: At age 14 went to Molunkus from Caribou, ME, to work in the woods as cookie. Blew hands up with dynamite cap. Girl his age drove him, presumably by team, to a doctor in Winn. He lived with a priest, apparently while recovering. Names mentioned - Doctor Kelley, Doctor Merrill. Also mentioned Charles Chase, a clerk in Jarvis store.
